Actor Bio: This well-respected stage and TV actor entered the world of acting on a whim. Following university, Dillane worked for the publication Croydon Advertiser, but inspired by actor Trevor Eve, who gave up his career in architecture to pursue acting, Dillane left his job as a journalist and enrolled in the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Dillane started out acting in theater—notable roles include Prior Walter in Angels in America, Hamlet, Clov in Endgame, Uncle Vanya, and Henry in The Real Thing (for which he won a Tony Award). TV appearances have also been a staple of Dillane’s career — he played Edward Cazalet in the series The Cazalets, starred in numerous TV movies such as An Affair in Mind and The Rector’s Wife, and most recently portrayed Thomas Jefferson in the mini-series John Adams. He has appeared on the big screen as well, in films such as The Hours, King Arthur and Fugitive Pieces. – Tribute.ca
