Kit Harington: Season 5 “Like a Horror Film”
Kit Harington explains it all! In one of the best quotes for the Tower of London Premiere, Kit Harington patiently explained to The RadioTimes how the rhythm of Game of Thrones works.
“They tend to go story season then shocking season then story season then shocking season,” he said. “This is a shocking season.”
I’m sorry, did he just suggest that last season—which opened with yet another reason why weddings are the most dangerous event to attend in Westeros, peaked with a man getting his head mashed like an over-ripe melon, and then ended with a little girl we’ve watched grow up coldly leave a man begging for death to rot was merely a “story season”?
How much worse can Season 5 get? Check out what Harington said, below!
This fifth series will be as bloody as any, we are assured. Speaking to Kit Harington on the way into the screening, the man behind Jon Snow told RadioTimes.com that it will be a “shocking season”, comparing it to a “horror film”.
There was not a huge amount of evidence of this in the first episode, though.
Well, one thing we do know about Game of Thrones is that there’s always episodes of plot exposition to get through first. In the first season, many Unsullied wondered when things would stop getting complicated and start happening, after all. And last year, it wasn’t until the second episode that Joffrey finally kicked the bucket.
I suppose that when one is comparing things to the likes of The Red Wedding, everything starts getting graded on a curve. Even Sophie Turner said that her big traumatic scene this season is only a “6.” Considering word is that this season has not one, but three weddings? Perhaps “horror film” is an apt term.
