Season 5: “The House of Black and White” Trailer

With the end of every episode comes the trailer for next week. Below, we break down the trailer and the new footage for Season 2’s episode “The House of Black and White.” The exciting news: this time, our glimpse of Dorne won’t be on Loras’ thigh.

Well, ok, maybe that’s not such good news, depending on your taste. But we’re still going to Dorne next week.

• From the looks of it, this opening scene is the Ellaria-Doran clash on the balcony we caught a glimpse of in the Canal+ interviews with the cast last month.
• Though the episode is named after Arya’s destination, we don’t get any new footage other than her arriving by boat. The shot of her standing at the door was part of the promo pictures, and the image of her knocking on the huge doors was teased by those “Raven Bringing The Sight” videos.
• We’ve seen that image of Cersei and the snake in the box in the trailer, but now we have it in context. It is a threat to Myrcella, and from the looks of it, it sends Cersei right over the edge.
• That image of Dany vs the Masters seems ominous. As for “all they understand is blood” I assume that’s referring to the Meereenese?
• If they kill Pod, I am going to be very distraught. This is another scene we’ve seen teased but have little context for.
• And it looks like Drogon will also be by for a visit next week. I hope Dany puts out her best goats for roasting.
