Rumored Casting Dates for Season 6 Extras
There’s no official confirmation (yet) but it looks like pre-production is about to arrive in Spain for Game of Thrones Season 6. According to local outlet Ideal.es, all signs point to the show casting extras in Almería during the first full week of July this year. The Pabellón Moisés Ruiz, which was the staging grounds for local extra casting for the last major production in the area, Exodus: Gods and Kings, has been booked by the production for July 9th and 10th.
According to Los Siete Reinos:
Según declaran las fuentes consultadas por Ideal, esta reserva no supone una confirmación, pero sí un requisito para la adjudicación final , que está muy cerca de revelarse.
which roughly translates as
According to the sources close to the production consulted by Ideal, this booking is not a confirmation, but part of the requirement for the final decision, which is very close to being made.
All Spanish sources seem to agree though, that Almería is basically a go at this point, with only a few “I”s to be dotted and “T”s to be crossed before HBO makes the official announcement. Girona and Peñíscola have already been confirmed, and casting for extras there is assumed to also be happening in July.
