Who’s going to die in Game of Thrones Season 7? Odds on 50 characters
Yara Greyjoy
Not everyone in Dany’s army can survive. And although we all love the idea of Dany with Queen Consort Yara Greyjoy by her side, the truth is that we all know she’s a little redundant. You can’t have two queens in the same place. If Yara wants to survive, she has to leave Dany’s side, probably sooner rather than later. One of my personal pet theories for keeping her alive is the idea that, in a world where women have always been oppressed, the oppressed are the ones who will need to step up and take charge in Westeros’ hour of need. And in the end, Dany would rule in King’s Landing, Ellaria in Dorne, Olenna in the Reach, Sansa in the Vale, Lyanna Mormont in the North, and Yara on the Iron Islands.
Under that theory, Yara needs to make it to the end. But when has Game of Thrones ever given us what we wanted? Couple that with SPOILERS about Euron capturing either Yara or Theon at some point during the year, and Yara’s safety is far from assured. (Partly because it’s hard to believe that Theon would be re-captured and tortured by the next most mad lord now that Ramsay’s a dog’s dinner.) If Yara has stayed by Dany’s side for too long, Euron may kill her on the principle, since it’ll be a way to get at Dany. But I like my pet theory because it gives us all an excuse for Yara to wind up alive and well and living on Pyke once more. I’m putting her chances at 50/50.
Chance of survival: 50%
