Helen Mirren Would Like To be On Game of Thrones

When the Queen says she would like a role on your show, it is perhaps advisable to find her one.

Helen Mirren, best known for…do I really have to list it all out? Let’s just go with “a long and storied career.” As one who crossed the divide from television to movies to playing the currently reigning Queen of England on Broadway, she’s one of the creme de la creme of the BBC stable from which Game of Thrones draws the bulk of its talent. During a recent interview with the Daily Mail, she admitted to watching Game of Thrones, and suggested that she wouldn’t mind a role on the hit show.

We fantasy cast Dame Helen Mirren below!

When asked, Mirren said she’d want to play a merciless character.

“Very cold and cruel… I’d love that,’ she says.”

Unfortunately, Cersei is taken. But there are certainly other parts that might fit the bill. For example, she could play one of the ancient Targaryens, like Rhaenys and/or Visenya, in a flashback. For something more contemporaneous with Game of Throne’s currently story line… Well, she’s too blonde for Dorne, and though she might make a terrific Iron Islander, they seem to not have a lot of women around. In fact, in order to have her as a character, the show would either have to add one or gender flip a character. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Perhaps the White Walkers might need a Queen?
