Game of Thrones Season 5 Episodes 4-8 Official Synopsis

HBO has put out a press release today with the official titles and synopsis for each of the next four episodes of Season 5. Some of these we’ve reported already as rumors. Now they’re confirmed.

Next week’s episode is, as we reported earlier, is entitled “Sons of the Harpy.”

The official synopsis:
The Faith Militant grow increasingly aggressive. Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and Bronn (Jerome Flynn) head south. Ellaria (Indira Varma) and the Sand Snakes vow vengeance.
Written by Dave Hill; directed by Mark Mylod.
Debut: SUNDAY, MAY 3 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT)

So next week we finally get to see Jaime and Bronn arrive in Dorne, and perhaps clash with Dornish fighters. We knew from before that this would be the first episode in which we meet the Sand Snakes.

Season 5 Trailer Theon Reek

Episode 505: “Kill the Boy”

Dany (Emilia Clarke) makes a difficult decision in Meereen. Jon (Kit Harington) recruits the help of an unexpected ally. Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) searches for Sansa (Sophie Turner). Theon (Alfie Allen) remains under Ramsay’s (Iwan Rheon) control.
Written by Bryan Cogman; directed by Jeremy Podeswa.

With the title taken from the quote “Kill the boy and let the man be born,” this sounds like an episode focused on Jon Snow. The blurb about Theon and Ramsay worries me, as Allen promised the terrible scene with Sansa comes at about the midway point of the season.

Episode 506: “Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken”

Arya (Maisie Williams) trains. Jorah (Iain Glen) and Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) run into slavers. Trystane (Toby Sebastian) and Myrcella (Nell Tiger Free) make plans. Jaime and Bronn reach their destination. The Sand Snakes attack.
Written by Bryan Cogman; directed by Jeremy Podeswa.

Awww, this sounds like a romantic episode! Trystane and Myrcella are our lovebirds this season, let’s hope their plans are not ruined by Sand Snakes’ attack.

Episode 507: “The Gift”

Jon prepares for conflict. Sansa tries to talk to Theon. Brienne waits for a sign. Stannis (Stephen Dillane) remains stubborn. Jaime attempts to reconnect with family.
Written by David Benioff & D.B. Weiss; directed by Miguel Sapochnik.

“Stannis remains stubborn” is officially my favorite blurb EVAR. Also, I assume that Jaime’s attempt to “reconnect” with family means that he’ll try to steal away Myrcella?

And now the episode title and blurb that’s brand spanking new!

Episode #48: “Hardhome”

Arya makes progress in her training. Sansa confronts an old friend. Cersei (Lena Headey) struggles. Jon travels.
Written by David Benioff & D.B. Weiss; directed by Miguel Sapochnik.

HARDHOME! I had assumed the Hardhome episode would be a standalone fight episode, considering that the battle sequence at Hardhome took weeks to film. But it sounds like the actual battle will take place in episode 9, and the episode baring it’s name is merely the lead up. After all, Jon is merely traveling.
