Jimmy Fallon interviews “Khaleesi” (Kristen Wiig) On The Tonight Show

As the season continues, so do the late night appearances. But those late night shows that have already cycled through the cast, or that can’t book certain cast members due to their schedules, sometimes have to go with the next best thing. So it was on Jimmy Fallon last night. Fallon was unable to snag an appearance from Meereen’s infamous Dragon Queen, as she was apparently too busy putting down Harpy-fueled riots and working the propaganda circuit on MDNBC (The Meereenese Dragon News Broadcast Company). In the real world, Emilia Clarke is off filming the romantic film Me Before You. With few options left (apparently body double Rosie Mac was also already booked elsewhere), Fallon went with fourth tier “Khaleesi Knockoff” Kristen Wiig.

Thank heavens for small mercies, at least Fallon knows her damn name isn’t Khaleesi, even if the answer he got when he asked for her name was “Karen.” And thankfully Wiig gives up on the extraordinarily bad British accent early on. Also, who knew Kristen Wiig and Karen Targaryen both fly Air Targaryen?

Also, it’s adorable how much Kristen is cracking Fallon up and then in turn is barely able to keep herself from giggling.

Also: since Karen Targaryen is clearly not actually the mother of Dragons, does that make her a False Dragon? Are we allowed to use that term for this series, or will Robert Jordan’s estate object? This interview brought up so many questions…
